Breathe in Travel, a tour operator and DMC specializing in the Balkans, has unveiled its 2027 season. The company, founded in 2018 by two Bretons, focuses on customized travel experiences in the region. With a deep understanding of the Balkans, they aim to showcase the region’s unique charm and diversity, ensuring travelers experience it authentically.
The Balkans offer a diverse range of environments, cultures, and flavors. From the Albanian Riviera to the medieval monasteries of Kosovo, each country has its unique character. North Macedonia boasts the Ohrid Lake, where mornings begin with mist rising over Byzantine churches, and the Tikveš vineyards, known for their family-run wineries. Montenegro features the stunning Bay of Kotor, ideal for dawn boat trips, and the majestic Durmitor peaks, offering breathtaking mountain vistas.
A Region of Contrasts
The Balkans are a compact territory with a rich variety of experiences. In Albania, travelers can explore the Ionian Riviera, with its turquoise pebble beaches, and the rugged Albanian Alps, including the picturesque valleys of Theth and Valbona. Kosovo offers the dramatic Rugova Gorges, perfect for hiking, and the UNESCO-listed medieval monasteries, alongside the lively café culture of Pristina.
The region’s cultural diversity is a key attraction. From the Byzantine churches of Ohrid to the Turkish coffee served in the courtyards of Prizren, the Balkans offer a unique blend of traditions. Local hospitality shines through in home-cooked meals, featuring farm-fresh cheese, grilled peppers, and a glass of raki, creating authentic encounters that leave a lasting impression.

Breathe in Travel has offices in Pristina, Tirana, Zagreb, and Bucharest, with local teams across the region. This on-the-ground presence allows them to curate unique experiences tailored to each traveler’s preferences. New Experiences for 2027
For 2027, Breathe in Travel has expanded its offerings to include charming accommodations, off-the-beaten-path itineraries, and local experiences. These range from winery visits in Tikveš, where travelers can taste wines from family-run vineyards, to silver filigree workshops in Prizren, offering a glimpse into traditional craftsmanship.
The company also offers cross-border combinations, allowing travelers to explore multiple countries seamlessly. Experiences include a guesthouse stay in the serene Theth Valley, a dawn boat trip in the Bay of Kotor, and a hike in the Rugova Gorges followed by a shepherd’s lunch. These experiences highlight the region’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
