ZEcamping has released its 2026 report, noting a growth in short stays and last-minute bookings. The company observed a 3% increase in bookings for linear engagement and rental activities compared to 2025.
The report highlights that short stays are becoming increasingly popular, with a 34% increase from the previous period, now accounting for 34% of all bookings. This is up from 26% in 2025 and 19% in 2024.
According to the report, the most popular short stay formats are three and four nights, while two-night stays have seen significant growth, particularly due to the May holiday calendar.
Another trend identified by ZEcamping is the rise of last-minute bookings, with 48% of reservations made within 30 days of departure. This phenomenon was particularly noticeable during the summer, with an increase in bookings in July and August.
The report notes that this trend presents a challenge for professionals in the industry, who must balance availability management, occupancy goals, and pricing policies. However, it is unclear whether this trend is a lasting change in behavior or a result of a complicated summer.
ZEcamping also reported a positive dynamic in the pre-season, with an 8% increase in revenue in the post-season. The company’s network of partner campsites has grown to 600, with 200 new establishments added this year.
Additionally, 74% of bookings made through ZEcamping’s multidistribution activity concern the low season, indicating a shift in consumer behavior towards shorter, more spontaneous trips.
Uncertainty Over Trend Durability and Multidistribution Growth
ZEcamping continues expanding its multidistribution service, now covering a network of 600 partner campsites, including 200 newly connected sites this year. The company says 74% of bookings through this channel occur in the low season.
